Upcoming Game “A/A”
Upcoming Game “A/A”

A while back my friend and I sketched out an idea for a very simple arcade shooter. It got left on the shelf for a few years but I’ve recently remade it and am soon to release it online for free. Here’s some footage:

Crooked Music
Crooked Music

For this track I recorded a couple of takes of a core piece as a stereo mix and then edited / processed the recording in a DAW after. I’m pretty happy with the result, a touch of editing to modular performances I think can really bring out the life in them.

Zarya Music Video
Zarya Music Video

Zarya is a track off my EP “Dextre” I released this year (2018). I made a video for this track myself by filming paint spreading and sinking through water.

Vajra Generative Music
Vajra Generative Music

Vajra is an experiment in generative music on the modular systems. For this I used the Squarp Hermod sequencer to push out two sequences of random pitches quantized to a D flat scale. The ALM Akemie’s Castle is fed a note at the start of every bar and its sound is modulated by an ADE-32

Tap Delay Sound Design
Tap Delay Sound Design

The 4ms Tapographic Delay is a stereo, filtered 32 tap delay module. It features a time parameter with a strange behaviour where you can hear the delays scan through a sort of ‘buffer’ resulting in re-pitching and changes in playback direction. I spent a while recording sounds with it, feeding it filtering sweeps at various

Ocean Recordings
Ocean Recordings

Recently I visited Gozo to capture the sounds of the tiny island. I haven’t gone through all the stuff I recorded yet but I’m happy with what I have heard so far. Here is an example of the ocean waves crashing against the rocks early in the morning:   Here’s another example, this was recorded

Lyra-8
Lyra-8

Newest arrival to the studio is the Soma Laboratories Lyra-8 ‘Organismic Synthesizer’. This thing is wild, a formless, constantly moving drone machine with an unwieldy FX section. Here’s the result of a days use with it. The first half of this is focused on the droning sounds it creates while the 2nd half is more

Shapeshifter Basic 1
Shapeshifter Basic 1

Spending some time learning the incredibly deep and complex Shapeshifter module, starting slow with some silly techno 🙂

Morphagene Soundscapes
Morphagene Soundscapes

Two pieces centred around the Make Noise Morphagene module which is a simulated tape recorder. It can slice audio into grains which can then be repitched, the grains can be scanned and blended – it makes for some very interesting micro sound explorations. ps- I didn’t take the article head picture I found it on

Modular Live “Performance”
Modular Live “Performance”

I spend most of my time at work editing clips in detail – so that’s the last thing I want to be doing at home. I’ve built a Eurorack system to both serve as an interesting source for my sound design but also so that I can make music unshackled from the computer. Slow going
